A meme featuring a tea maker who is seen in a photograph with a twirling tea cup has made the rounds on social media, drawing a number of comments about how it is an inappropriate use of language.
The meme, which has since been deleted, has gained widespread attention in India’s coffee and tea industry, which is often overshadowed by the popularity of tea and its myriad ingredients.
“In the tea industry there are a lot of very traditional ways of drinking tea and I think this is a very, very inappropriate use,” said Vinay Gupta, chief executive officer at the Sunright Tea Studio in Mumbai.
The company produces a variety of teas, including “Twisted tea”, the most expensive tea in India at Rs 1,800 a kilo, but its most popular brand is the Boba milk Tea.
It has also been a subject of debate on Twitter, with some users calling the cup “too cute” and others arguing that it was “very disrespectful”.
Mr Gupta said that he was not surprised by the controversy, and had seen it before.
“It’s been on the social media.
It’s been around for a while, people are just saying ‘this is what I want to see’, it’s just a funny meme.
I’m not going to take it too seriously,” he said.”
People say, what are you going to do about it?”
He said that people were making a big deal out of it.
“You have to understand the context.
It was just a tea cup that someone bought.
If the tea was from a teapot, I wouldn’t have bothered,” he added.”
The idea that you can take a tea and make something that you wouldn’t normally drink and say, ‘oh I’m going to have a cup of tea’ is completely unacceptable.”
We are trying to stay positive, and the way to keep positive is to keep working and to keep educating ourselves.
“There are people who are just making this stuff up and not thinking about it.
They’re just doing it for fun and we should not be surprised.”‘
It’s just stupid’TwistedTea.com is a website created by Vinay Singh Gupta and his team to promote their tea.
The site features images of the teas and their brands, which can be purchased from the tea store.
“This is just stupid.
It shows that people are making up things to make fun of people,” Mr Gupta said.
The post, which started circulating on social networking site Twitter and has been picked up by other outlets, included a video showing a woman holding up a cup that looks like it has a Twirling Tea logo on it.
The person wearing the cup also holds up a “twisted” cup and a “panda milk” cup that are similar in shape.
It is not clear whether the person who has made it is the same woman or someone else.
However, the post has since gone viral on social networks.
“I don’t really care about the comments that come up.
I just want to make sure that people understand that this is just an image that someone made up.
This is not something we are doing,” Mr Singh Gupta said, adding that the video had been taken down from the site.”
If people don’t like the idea of us showing this to people, then don’t watch the video.
It is just silly.”
The post has been shared hundreds of times and shared over 100 times on social network Weibo.
While many people are upset by the image, the company says it has received support from people.
“Many people have commented on the post saying that they are happy that we are showing this,” Mr Gandhi said.
Mr Gupta added that they were not the only ones to be bothered by the meme.
“Other people have shared it and said, ‘It’s silly.
I don’t think this would be a good idea.
I think it would be disrespectful’,” he said, referring to the original image.”
But there are other people who think it’s very good.”
